KARAOKE CABLE SCARF

This self striping yarn is perfect for cool scarves!  The simple cable pattern makes it interesting and fun to knit.

MATERIALS

w South West Trading Co.
   2 balls Karaoke  color 280


w needles:  US 7

w gauge: 5.5 sts per 1"

abbreviations:
k = knit
p = purl

C6F: slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 3 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.

C6B: slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit next 3 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.

INSTRUCTIONS

with Karaoke yarn and US 7 needles, cast on 22 stitches.
row 1: k2, p2, k6, p2, k6, p2, k2
row 2: k4, p6, k2, p6, k4
repeat above two rows for a total of 6 rows.

CABLE ROWS
row 1:
k2, p2,
C6F, p2, C6B, p2, k2
row 2: k4, p6, k2, p6, k4
REGULAR ROWS
row 3: k2, p2, k6, p2, k6, p2, k2
row 4: k4, p6, k2, p6, k4
row 5: k2, p2, k6, p2, k6, p2, k2
row 6: k4, p6, k2, p6, k4
row 7: k2, p2, k6, p2, k6, p2, k2
row 8: k4, p6, k2, p6, k4

repeat above section until your scarf measures 60" long, bind off.
use remaining yarn to make tassels!

NOTE:  if you want a tighter cable, knit up to row 6 instead of row 8.
