MIDNIGHT GARDEN

This bag pattern uses the purse form and other bag creation parts.
No more lifeless knitted/crochet pieces!

MATERIALS

w 1 ball . SWTC  Phoenix . black
w 1 ball . Karabella  Gossamer  . color 6700
w Purse form and parts
   purse form, handles and magnetic snap

w crochet hook I (5.5mm)

abbreviations:
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet
turning chains count as stitches

INSTRUCTIONS

-With both yarns held together and size I hook
-ch 32, work 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each ch across, ch 2, turn
-work 1 hdc in each across, ch 2, turn (29 hdc including turning ch)
-work 1 hdc in each across through front loop only, ch 2, turn
-work 2 hdc in next, 1 hdc in each st until one st and turning ch remain, 2 hdc in next,
  1 hdc in turning ch (31 hdc including turning chain)
-repeat above row 4 more times to 39 hdc across including turning ch
- work 10 rows of hdc
-ch 1, turn, work sl st in each of next 5 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 27 sts, ch 2, turn
  (you will not have worked across the full row)
- work 1 hdc in each across (27 hdc including turning ch)
- work 5 rows of hdc (in this centered panel for bottom of bag)
  on 6th row, work hdc across, end with ch 7, 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each
  of next 4 ch sts, 1 hdc in each across last row, ch 7, turn, 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook,
  1 hdc in each of next 4 ch sts, 1 hdc in each across (39 hdc including turning ch)
-work 10 rows of hdc
-work 1 hdc, skip 1, 1 hdc in each across until 2 sts and turning ch remain, skip 1,
  1 hdc in next, 1 hdc in turning ch, ch 2, turn
-repeat above row 4 more times
-work 1 hdc in each across
-work 1 hdc in front loop of each across
-work 1 hdc in each across, end!


FINISHING
-sew together purse form per the instruction sheet
-wrap finished crochet piece over the outside of the bag and sew through the crochet and the holes in the form to secure at the edges.
-make a fabric liner for the inside of the bag (OR leave it as is)
-clip magnetic snap to the inside top/center of the bag
-clip handles near the top edge through the form and the crochet fabric
 (I used one clear and one black, but either color will be cool with this bag)
