repeat from START STITCH PATTERN two more times

start decreasing for top of hat
-next row: [k9, skp] around
-next row: k all sts
-next row: [k8, k2tog] around
-next row: k all sts
-next row: [k7, skp] around
-next row: k all sts
-next row: [k6, k2tog] around
-next row: k all sts
switch to US 9 double pointed needles,
knit remainder of hat loosely
-next row: [k5, skp] around

cut yarn and pull thru remaining sts to close.
